In order to start making PC to Phone calls, you'll need the following:
1. Access to the Internet
2. Speakers and a microphone (an integrated headset with a boom microphone is ideal)
or
3. A full-duplex sound card in your computer (if your computer is less than 10 years old, the chances are excellent that you already have a suitable sound card installed)
Once you have the above, you're ready to go. The next step is to choose a service_provider from whom you'll be able to utilise the VoIP technology. The providers generally charge a per minute rate to call long distance and their rates will vary depending on the destination country and/or whether you are calling a cellular telephone or traditional fixed line telephone.
Once you've chosen a service provider, the next step will be to download a small interface program which typically resembles the keypad on a telephone. These small programs are made by the PC-Phone provider and will be made available to you once you choose a provider. Depending on your internet connection, the download will take anywhere from less than a minute to 10-15 minutes. The software downloads are generally provided free of charge.
After you've completed these steps, have installed the software and followed the service providers instructions, you're all set!
Enjoy saving Money!
